Collection: Old Glow
Diamonds were much more valuable than they are now.
Over 100 years ago, before there were diamond-cutting machines or even electricity, rough diamonds were cut by hand. This led to the development of cuts unique to this era, known as the Old Mine Cut and the Old European Cut.
In the days before there were any evaluation standards for diamonds (4Cs), diamonds were not as uniform in shape as they are today.
A little misshapen and chubby, but with a unique and charming expression, it's as if he's saying, "Perfection is no fun!"
However, when the round brilliant cut, which is the mainstream today, appeared in the early 20th century, many of these diamonds were recut into this "perfect shape," and very few diamonds remain in their original form.
The antique cut is designed to sparkle under the light of a candle. Instead of the bright, dazzling sparkle of modern diamonds, it has a moist, fresh sparkle like a drop of water.
You will surely be captivated by the unique brilliance that can only be found in antique cuts.
