Our ethical diamonds come from the Democratic Republic of Congo, located in the middle of the African continent.



The DRC is a country rich in mineral resources and is the fourth largest producer of diamonds in the world (as of 2022).



However, political and economic instability has led to reports of violence against miners in the mining areas. Numerous artisanal miners are mining diamonds in dangerous working conditions, without proper equipment, and are being bought for a pittance.



Jewellery Wanderlust sources diamonds at fair prices from artisanal miners through partners with roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The miners are paid a premium on top of the price, which is used by the miners to improve their lives, for example by equipping themselves and paying school fees for their children.
