Today, November 15th, Jewellery Wanderlust celebrates its first anniversary.
It was exactly one year ago today that we opened this online store with funds raised through crowdfunding.
We were able to successfully celebrate our first anniversary thanks to everyone who purchased Jewelry Wanderlust jewelry and supported us through social media. Thank you so much.
In our first year, we were able to launch new collections and items that we had been developing ideas for.
In addition to the ethical gemstones we have been using since the brand's inception, we have launched a collection featuring gemstones native to Japan, such as coral, which we have always wanted to feature, and have been able to collaborate with artisans in Kochi Prefecture, the center of Japan's coral industry.
There are still many artisanal skills across Japan that are disappearing due to declining demand, despite being highly skilled in jewelry processing. We would like to shine a spotlight on such artisanal skills and continue to work with various artisans.
It also gave the brand its first exposure in the media .
We were approached because we are an ethical brand, and we are pleased that Jewellery Wanderlust is slowly becoming more widely recognized as an ethical jewelry brand.
Furthermore, the brand's biggest goal in its first year, "to exhibit at a pop-up," was achieved in the best possible way by exhibiting at "New Jewelry TOKYO 2025. "
The event itself is yet to come (November 28th-30th), so we are currently making preparations (we would be delighted if you could attend).
Currently, we only have an online store, and the lack of a place where customers can actually touch and look at the items has always bothered me. I am relieved that customers will now have the opportunity to see Jewelry Wanderlust jewelry in person for the first time, and I am also very excited to see what kind of reaction we will receive.
As many of you may know, this year the price of gold finally surpassed 20,000 yen, sending shock waves through the world. While hidden behind the soaring gold price, the price of platinum has also risen sharply, creating a difficult situation for the jewelry industry.
It's difficult these days to make and buy jewelry, but as long as ethical jewelry continues to exist, I intend to protect my jewelry wanderlust and continue doing what I can.
From the outside, it may seem like just a year, but as the saying goes, "Starting a business is easy, maintaining it is hard," and continuing is far more difficult than starting. That's why being able to safely reach our first anniversary gave Jewelry Wanderlust a great deal of confidence.
I have nothing but words of gratitude for everyone who has supported me since the launch of the brand. Thank you so much again.
We are also considering various challenges in our second year, so we hope you will continue to support us. Thank you for your continued support.
